diploma of art

Huh, today I finally finished my diploma of art (I am not sure what`s the term for it in English)! Anyway, the idea is that for every school year they give different kind of subjects for the diploma of art. The student may choose one of them and create a piece of art about the subject she/he chose. In my school we are given about 23 x 75 minutes time to work on the project. (Haha, my explanation sounds a little poor to my mind but I hope that you got the point.)

Well, my subject was "shame" and I was planning to paint three paintings about it. In the end I managed to paint only one painting because I was so slow haha... But I though that it is better to have one good painting than three paitings that are only "alright". : ) We had to also create a portfolio and the 1/2 of the grade of diploma comes from the portfolio. So it is important to make it carefully, too!

I`ll post a proper photo of the painting when I`ll get it home but here are some details of it (taken when the painting was still unfinished). : )

12 fox`s whispers:

  1. Oii! Haluun ehdottomasti nähdä valmiin työn 8) näyttää jo noi detailit tosi kivoilta. toivottavasti menee hyvin se ja saat hyvät pisteet! :D

Mai: Aww thanks! : ) In fact I am not sure what to think about it haha I like it but some things bother me a little... But I`ll definitely post some photos of the whole paiting later! :>

  4. I am struggling with the word for "diploma" too... we do use the word Diploma, but it is usually a course you study after high school, like university.

can't wait to see the finished painting, I LOVE the girl's nose ^_^

Pip-pi: jeee kiitti! Haha, pelkäänpä et värit melkein ehk vähän kivemmat noissa kuvissa kuin oikeasti (jotenki ehk kitkkaammat viel) mut ei ne nyt iiihan erilaiset ole. : ) ja juu öljyväri!

  7. I love your work! I've actually been following you for a while now, but on deviantART, but I've transferred myself over here for a bit. I can't wait to see the finished painting, your use of colours are gorgeous! :)

  8. Thanks a lot Molly! :> And aww, that`s nice to hear! When I used to be more active in deviantart/I had more time I used to check out all the new watchers/people who commente my stuff one by one, but in these days it is not possible. : ( Sadly because of that I don`t sometimes even realize that some talented people are watching me etc...

But thanks for your kind words, and I hope that you`ll like the finished painting as much. <3

Yeah, I'm fairly new here at the minute. I don't really plan on leaving dA, just testing the water over here. 'Just trying to get a nice blog layout sorted out now, and then I can post things :')

  10. : ) Da really is such a nice place and I have met a lot of friends there and I think that finding that site really inspired/hve inspired and inspires me and make me want to improve my skills even more badly. : ) Sadly I don`t seem to have as much time for personal paitings and stuff anymore so I don`t post deviations so often. : > But that is great place to share art indeed!

And goof luck with the layout! : ) it took me a while to great a good one but internet is full of tutorials! I used some of those super simple ready templates and then I just added the background (teacups) with this tutorial http://www.betatemplates.com/2010/06/add-your-own-image-blog-background-in.html :>
