still grey

my latest illustration for Helsingin Sanomat, the subject was ballot and how young people have so little interest towards it.

Uuh, this week has been pretty tough I would say. My marticulation examinations began on Monday and during these week I have taken exams in Mother language, English and Biology. For the exams we have to study everything that we have learnt during our school years (especially during latest three years) and each exam lasts 6 hours. I am bad at studying many subjects at the same time so my schedule for studying failed like 24/7... : D But uh I guess that the exams went ok anyway, though there is still Swedish left on Monday... I am a little worried because I didn`t find much time for studying and currently it feels like my Swedish would be totally rusty/worse than ever... Well, I can try to get a better grade of it later if it goes super badly, heh... :---)

For last 4 or 5 weeks I have spent nearly al my time indoors. : D Besides I have definitely avoided studying very skillfully and most of time I have found myself surfing online or watching television (normally I watch tv like 2 times a week). I have hardly met any of my friends either, everybody has been so busy! This kind of sluggish life has really started to bore me so next week I`ll try to start "living a real life" again heh! ; ) I have a lot of ideas for my future posts so I`ll try to be more active blogger too!

I hope that you are doing well! <3 cheers!

  1. It will soon start to be warm for you too, so that will encourage you to go outside more! I am leaving in one month's time to come to Europe, so I HOPE it will be very warm by then!!!!!

  2. Good luck with your exams! I love the illustration too, your style is so cute, but not like overkill cute. May I ask, is the Helsingin Sanomat some kind of newspaper?

  3. Monika: Yes, that´s right! : > Then I must spend more outside and it would be nice to do more walking trips. :) And I didn`t read that post completely yet but the idea (of your journey) sounds so exciting! And I hope that it will be! Sadly "real" summer begins usually so late in Finland... : <

Molly: Thank you, now they are over and I couldn`t be happier! : ) And aww thanks again haha!
You are right, Helsingin Sanomat is a newspaper. : ) In fact it is the "biggest" (most popular one if I am not totally wrong) magazine in Finland, but I guess that it is most popular in South Finland. It is not THAT big deal anyway but of course it is pretty big deal for me and I am glad that my illustrations will be published there (even if only once in three weeks). :--) My friends are following my illustrations eagerly 8and relatives haha aww) but yeah, for example most people in my school haven`t noticed/heard that I am drawing illustrations for them (even though my high school is specialized in visual arts and people are generally speaking interested in such things). ; )

  4. It's really nice for you to be published in a "famous" magazine :)
As usual I like your style, the black and white is a really cool choice(or not?).
Even I prefer when you make a "finished" picture with colours(I love colours) and background...

  5. Tarteen: Aww, thank you! :' ) I am glad that I have this chance. :---)
Thank you, and in fact all my illustrations for them (expect the logo that I drew for the page were the illustrations are published) are black and white. I could probably also draw coloured pictures but because we made an agreement (in the very beginning) that the illustrations would be black and white, they wouldn`t likely pay me more (coloured illustrations take much more time and patience so I wouldn`t draw them for the same price). :-) But I dream about having some coloured illustrations published too, maybe some day... ; )
Thanks for your opinion, personally I also prefer "finished" pictures. .--)
