The only museum that we visited during our trip was Moderna Museet. We planned to check out some other museums too, but errrh, we were too excited about all the vintage stores. : D

The beautiful Gamla stan.
This was a really strange shop that we saw in Gamla stan, sadly it was already closed (it was already late and our last evening there!). They had tons of mounted animals there, like cats and even a dog I think. o__O The clothes in their window looked like nice though!
Oh so lovely Beyond Retro, I am a little sad that we don`t have as cool stores here in Finland. : ( Beyond Retro sells all kind of old clothes from different decades, you usually do great vintage and second hand finds! Me and Riikka checked out all Beyond Retros in Stockholm and in every shop we tried like 15 dresses and other clothes. : D Unfortunately the smaller sizes seem to be very popular (naturally) so sometimes almost everything that you find is too big for you. Or then über small!
I`d love to have this kind of skirt! But they didn`t fit me very well and they were expensive enough that I didn`t dare to buy one just to hang on my wall. : (
Some clothes that we tried on! I loved that yellow dress, but the zipper didn`t work and there were many stains so I left it there. Also that red dress stole my heart and in the end I decided to buy it although it was veeery tight and it almost hurt to wear it, haha... Luckily at home Riikka and I managed to fix it a little and now it fits me better (still tight, but not killing me). The main problem is that the waist is super tiny, but I`ll try to ignore that fact haha. : D
I absolutely loved this cardigan, so soft and cute! Sadly because of the fur it cost about 80 euros, eh...(Just to avoid some kind of misunderstandings I must say that personally I don`t mind about buying second hand fur products (for example I have a second hand fur hat). but I wouldn`t buy brand new products that are made of fur.)
Gorgeous Swedish Hasbeens in Tjallamalla. Riikka bought nude ones (she had dreamed about them for ages!), though she got hers from urban outfitters. : )
In a vintage shop named Lisa Larsson, I love the lady`s expression. ;--)
Lastly a photo that was taken in a small design shop hold by two women, sadly I don`t remember the name of it... They sold pretty dresses (obviously handmade) that reminded me of the 60s. They were adorable, but we didn`t end up buying any.
Well, well... In a nutshell I would say that our trip went really well and I really recommend visiting Stockholm if you adore second hand shopping and stylish design shops. ;-----)

ReplyDeleteYes, it was hard to decide to leave it, because there was a small chance that the stains would be washable and the zipper is easy to fix, but yeaaah, I think that I made the right decision, because it was also a bit small and about 70 euros... : D Luckily I got the red one instead, I loooove it! <3 Besides the red dress I bought also 3 other vintage dresses, but I didn`t have photos of all of them. ;> And you are right, Swedish Hasbeens are great..!
flomino: Thanks, there really were way too many beautiful dresses. ; ) I am so glad that I could bought a couple of them and bring home with me, hehe! <3 Aww, maybe you will be able to visit Stockholm some day too and I am sure that many old cities have some great vintage stores. 8) Thanks for watching and commenting! ^^
Ah, kaikki näyttää viel niin ihanalta kuvissa (oli oikeestikin mut jotenkin noistakin viel näkee ja muistaa paremmin)!! Tukholma oli muutenkin ku kauppojen osalta super ihana, tahtoo takaisin:D Harmi kyl ettei helsingissä oo yhtä prameet paikat ja kaupat, muuten voitais muuttaa tyylin beyond retroon! Sun pitää kyl laittaa kuntoon ne sun ihanat vintage mekot mitä ostit, niin pääset sit kans käyttämään;)Tykkän kyl omistakin ostoksistani, mut ois ollu kyl kivaa löytää viel joku tommonen oikea vanhusmekko..ja oh kun ahneus iskee ku näkee noi kaikki hasbeensit, mut kyl mä ihan loistavasti niillä yhdilläkin pärjään:)))
ReplyDeleteRöön: Tukholma on kyllä ihana, Helsinkikin on kiva totta kai, mut kaikki on jotenkin niin pienessä mittakaavassa Suomessa. : ) Ja joo, pitää yrittää tos heinäkuussa keksittyy noihin vaatejuttuihin ja parsia ja korjailla yhtä sun toista, muut vintage mekot onki periaattees käyttökunnossa, paitsi se oranssi, mitä pitää parsia ja pestä mut mut kyl se täst! En kyl malta oottaa kunnes pääsen pitää sitä... ; ) Ja haha, onhan se tavallaan hauskaa löytää jotain mahdollisesti oikeesti vanhaa, mut en nyt tiiä onko sillä iällä sinäänsä väliä kunhan on kiva. ; D Huonol tuuril voi elää luulos et "ooo tää jostain 40-luvult" ja sit oikeesti joku kasari toisinto. :'') Ja on noi hasbeensit kyl kivoi, saa nähä tuunko ite joskus omat jotku hankkimaan jaa-a, ei varmaan heti ainakaan. ;--D

ReplyDeleteMia: Moi, kiva kuulla että tykkäät! :> Hmmmm, kauhean vaikea arvioida, mutta mutta... Tavallaan tuolla on tosiaan suht hintavaa, mutta toisaalta just noita kai haalittu vähän ympäri eurooppaa eri paikoista ja just kirppiksiltä (kai... öh : D). Mutta tosiaan, hintahaarukka tuntuu olevan melko iso, mekot tuntuvat oleva useimmiten jotakin 30-80 e, varmasti halvempia ja kalliimpiakin löytyy.
ReplyDeleteVeikkaan, että mekon arvioitu ikä ja merkki ym vaikuttaa aika paljon hintaan. Esimerkiksi tuo kokeilemani keltainen mekko oli kaiketi 60-70 euroa ja Riikan kokeilemat mekot (kuvissa olevat) jotakin 50-100 euroa, vanhempia ja prameampia kun ovat. : ) Toisaalta sitten taas esimerkiksi tuo punainen mekkoni oli jotakin 30-40 euroa ja kaksi muuta ostamaani mekkoa olivat n. 30 e ja 30-40 euroa (nuo kaksi kalliimpaa jotka ostin olivat 60-luvulta). Voih, selitämpäs jotenkin sekavasti... Mutta kumminkin! : )
Ehkä voisi sanoa, että tuurilla samantasoisia mekkoja voisi löytää halvemmalla/halvalla jostain kirppareilta ja vastaavista, mutta ainakin Suomen vintage liikkeisiin verrattuna tuolla oli minusta hinnat kohdallaan. : ) Kun tuon reissun jälkeen tein vintage kierroksen Helsingissä niin tuntuu että monet mekot, jotka olivat samantasoisia tai "huonompia" kuin tuolla Beyond Retrossa näkemäni parhaimmisto, maksoivat jotakin 100-400 euroa kun taas tuolta suurin osa tuntui irtoavan alle satasella. : )
Okei! :) Mä en ikinä löydä täältä Suomen vintagekaupoista/kirppiksiltä yhtikäs mikään, joten tuo Beyond Retro näytti taivaalliselta haha! 30-80e ei vakuta hirveän pahalta, jos löytää jonkun täydellisen mekon... Samanhintaisia ne on uutena kaupoissakin + vanhojen vaatteiden kankaat ovat parempilaatuisia ja kestävät luultavasti kauan! Pitääkin seuraavalla reissulla pistäytyä tuolla, kiitos vinkistä <3
ReplyDeleteItsekin harvemmin mitään tosi erityistä Suomen second hand paikoista löydän, lähinnä nättejä laukkuja ja kenkiä, mutta mitään super vintage mekkoja ehkä harvemmin. :> Ehkä se on osittain tuurista kiinni tai jotain! Mutta juu, kannattaa toki Beyond Retrossa piipahtaa jos Tukholmassa käy, kyseisiä liikkeitä taisi olla Tukholmassa jotain kolme ja koluttavaa riittää. : ) Myös muita vintage-paikkoja oli aika paljon, kun googlettaa vähän niin aika helposti löytyy isoja listoja hyvistä second hand liikkeistä Tukholmassa. ;)
